Meet the Team

I am a Santa Barbara native, and used to identify myself as an Olympic Trial swimmer. This was before I found my passion for creativity in teaching and coaching kids. I am a licensed preschool teacher in both Oregon and California. During those few years of teaching in both states, my mind often wondered about how I would create my own educational program, knowing the downfalls of our education system. Little did I know that this opportunity would come when COVID-19 hit. The pandemic was the exact push I needed to help me transition this idea into reality! The past 4 years I have been connecting with numerous families and have created our own little community. When I started to gain a waitlist, I decided to take the plunge to slowly step away from teaching in order to shape Holistic Beings! Now I hire like-minded, warm and well rounded teachers to be part of my community’s educational journey. This has been the most rewarding journey yet, and I hope to see it keep growing!

Inside the Classroom: I’m passionate about connection, creativity and emphasizing life skills that I believe should be taught in every school environment. Being present, and thinking outside the box for helping kids learn through play, is key. I hope to help the next generation in learning how to emotionally regulate, communicate in a kind and healthy way, and know that everyone is unique, which is a superpower! I hope to connect them to their community and the nature around them.

Outside of the Classroom: You can find me traveling with my film camera, capturing the beauty of everything around me. You can also find me spending time with my family, friends and in nature. I enjoy being active, pretending I am still an elite athlete in my past life, while also completely enjoying my down time. Balance is key!

  • Summer Teacher

I’m thrilled to be teaching at Holistic Beings this summer! I was born in New York but my true hometown is San Diego. I graduated from the University of Oregon cum laude with my Bachelor’s in Educational Foundations and a minor in Ethnic Studies. For the past year, I’ve been working on my Masters and teaching second grade at Charlemagne French Immersion Elementary School. Throughout the years of working at summer camps, nannying, and teaching, I have loved working with students within the 1-5 year age range. I love nurturing their emotional, physical and academic pursuits in all stages of their lives. My favorite part is getting to know the unique personalities, wants and needs of my students in and out of the classroom.

Inside the Classroom: I’m passionate about emphasizing social-emotional learning and teaching life skills beyond academics—I believe this prepares students for academic success, and the tools they need to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Outside of the Classroom: You can find me spending time with family friends, going on hikes with my dog, lounging at the beach and finding new places to eat around town.

  • Summer Teacher

After earning a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Arizona State University, I worked with preschoolers for 5 years and kindergarten for 2 years. In these years, I have found my passion lies in settings that are filled with creativity, emphasizes a nurturing yet engaging environment where the kids and teachers are able to fully bond. When this is at the forefront, I believe kids flourish and feel safe enough blossom in every way!

Inside the Classroom: I believe that exploration and curiosity, are key to a happy and healthy childhood!

Outside the Classroom: I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, spending time at the beach, and trying new restaurants.
